SPEAKER BIO:

Anne Emert is an attorney with Fine Line HR Consulting, LLC and Freeman Martin McKee LLC, with many years of legal experience in the areas of employment law and counseling. In her position, she assists clients with employment counseling matters including human resources practices, workplace investigations, and employment policy training.

Before joining Fine Line HR Consulting, LLC and Freeman Martin McKee LLC, Anne practiced law at a healthcare law firm located in Kansas City where she represented clients in employment and commercial litigation matters filed in federal or state court or before administrative agencies. Earlier in her career, Anne spent several years practicing at a large, full-service law firm in Kansas City, where she represented clients in employment and other litigation and administrative matters.

In between her work in private practice, Anne spent many years serving as a federal law clerk in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. Following her law school graduation, Anne served as a Term Law Clerk to the Honorable Julie A. Robinson in the District of Kansas. And for nine years, Anne served as a Career Law Clerk to the Honorable Daniel D. Crabtree in the District of Kansas.

In 2023, the Kansas Supreme Court appointed Anne to serve on the Board of Law Examiners, a ten-member Board of Kansas lawyers and judges who oversee all matters relating to applications for admission, character and fitness, testing accommodations, temporary permits to practice, and legal intern permits for practicing law in Kansas.

Outside of work, Anne enjoys spending time with her husband Mark and their three children at the kids’ recreational sporting events, paddle boarding at the lake, or cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks.
