The Kansas Paralegal Association is hosting a CLE webinar through Zoom on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 12pm to 1pm over Guardianships and Conservatorships.
TOPIC OVERVIEW: Our guest speaker, Denise McNabb with Stevens and Brand, will provide attendees an overview and best practices regarding guardianships and conservatorships.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: An overview of both voluntary and involuntary conservatorships, as well as guardianships. The program will include drafting tips, obtaining the required medical examination, and timing for filing and hearing. Also, we will discuss the role of the court appointed attorney for the proposed ward/conservatee.
SPEAKER BIO:
Denise McNabb is partner at Stevens & Brand, L.L.P. in its Topeka office. She practices in the areas of trust and estate planning, elder law, asset protection planning, guardianship/conservatorship, and probate. Her practice centers on advising clients of the intricacies surrounding estate planning and focusing on those priorities that are unique to each person and family. Additionally, Denise has experience helping her clients navigate the complex issues surrounding Medicaid benefits and other long-term care planning issues. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and is the Kansas NAELA Chapter past-president. She is also a member of the KBA and the current KBA Elder Law Section Leader.
